International Applicants

We welcome applications at 13+ (Year 9), 14+ (Year 10) and 16+ (Year 12).

13+ and 14+ applicants

13+ and 14+ applicant take our own entrance exams in Maths, English and French* (* if studied for longer than 1 year).   An application forms may be downloaded here: 13+ and 14+ Entrance Examination Application Form

All applicants should be Registered with us before sitting the examination. 

The exams for 2018 entry can be taken at Shrewsbury School on either Saturday 4th November 2017 or Saturday 24th February 2018.   On these two dates, exams can also be taken at the applicant's current school, a local law firm or a local Consul Office.  Please note that parents will need to cover any administrative costs for overseeing these exams.  All exams should be taken on the same day and administered under strict exams conditions.  Results will be communicated within 2 weeks of sitting the exams.

Offers are only unconditional once a suitable academic and character reference has been received from the applicant's current school.

We would prefer to meet applicants in person, ideally during a tour of the School.  If this is not possible, then we would conduct a Skype interview. 

16+ applicants

16+ applicants take our own entrance exams in four written papers of their choice, as well as being interviewed by one of the Admissions Tutors. We would prefer to meet applicants in person, ideally during a tour of the School.  If this is not possible, then we would conduct a Skype interview.

All applicants should be registered with us before sitting the examination. An application pack and registration form for entry in September 2018 can be downloaded via our Sixth Form Admissions page.

The deadline for international 16+ applications for September 2018 entry closes on Friday 3rd November 2017. Exams can be taken around 11th and 12th November either at their current school, a local law firm or Consul Office. Please note that parents will need to cover any administrative costs for overseeing these exams.

Results are communicated within two to three weeks. Offers are conditional on an applicant achieving the equivalent of 3 As and 3 Bs at GCSE level as well as a satisfactory reference.
