The planet, people and plants.

The very survival of human endeavour is by no means certain and our future will depend, in part, on wise choices yet to be made by the Salopians of today.

Weaving together historical, geopolitical and biological themes Sir Edward Tate will deliver a wide ranging and lively discussion highlighting current environmental and food security challenges which already affect world populations to an unprecedented degree.

By challenging the current silo mentalities of political, economic and environmental direction participants are encouraged to draw from their own experiences to formulate better lifestyle and leadership decisions.

Brought up in Canada and Jamaica, Edward came to Shropshire in the mid 70’s. He was educated at Shrewsbury before joining the army spending the next 10 years travelling the world along with other Salopians with the Welsh Guards.

On leaving the forces he worked in the housing sector before returning to farm near Shrewsbury. He is a keen advocate of regenerative and sustainable agricultural practices and plays particular attention to biodiversity, soil and water management.

Having an interest in both history and geography he also supports a wide range of groups, organisations and associations which help both the young and old by promoting social inclusion, mental & physical wellbeing, education and opportunity.
