Notices to Parents and Guardians
All spectators welcome at The Tucks Race next Friday, 12th October at Attingham Park
An exciting new chapter in the history of the whole-school cross-country race, The Tucks, will be written next Friday, as it moves to the beautiful parkland setting of Attingham Park, 4 miles south-east of Shrewsbury. Many of the old traditions of the race will remain, though in a safer and more suitable setting as we move towards the third century of the race’s existence.
All parents, guardians and friends of the School are warmly invited to come and join us. The race commences at 2pm but spectators are advised to arrive before 1.30pm.
Attingham Park belongs to the National Trust, and Trust members should bring their membership cards for entry; otherwise the usual entrance fees will apply. The start and finish of the race will be in front of the Mansion House, with a sweeping panoramic view of the parkland course. It promises to be an event to remember!
The postcode for Attingham Park is SY4 4TP. More details, including directions and opening times of the Tea Room, can be found on their website https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/attingham-park
For a preview of the new course and a glimpse of the excitement in store, please see the video put together by Film Fellow David Clifford and members of the Hunt under 'Latest News' below.
