Notices to Parents and Guardians

Live streaming of the House Singing Competition, Friday 12th October

If you are not able to be physically present in the Alington Hall tonight for the Inter-House Singing Competition, we very much hope you will be able to watch it via the live stream. Details of how to access this were emailed to all parents and guardians on Tuesday. The broadcast will still be available to view until 11.00 BST on Saturday for those of you who are not able to watch it in real time. And after that, DVDs of the event will be available to order from MicroVideo http://microvideo.uk.com/.

Carol Services

We will be holding three Carol Services this term; the first at 7.30pm on Friday 7th December, the second at 5.30pm on Sunday 9th December and the final one at 5.30pm on Thursday 13th December. Space in the Chapel is at an absolute premium for these services. We regret that therefore tickets will be allocated only to pupils and their parents on a first come, first served basis and we are restricting the number of tickets to a maximum of four.

For full details of the ticketing arrangements for the Carol Services and a reply slip for reserving tickets, please see the Headmaster's letter to parents: Carol Services. The closing date for ticket applications is 23rd November.

To Parents of all Third Formers

Your sons and daughters are all being given the opportunity to enrol for the Bronze level of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and were given a talk about it this week. They have been asked to discuss this with you and decide after the half-term exeat whether they wish to enrol. Please see a letter from Lt Col Nick David, Director of Activities and D of E Manager, explaining how we run the Bronze Award at Shrewsbury. It also includes a list of activity suggestions for the volunteering, physical and skills sections of the Award: Duke of Edinburgh's Bronze Award - Letter to Parents
