Notices to Parents and Guardians
Choral Evensong and 'Introduction to Boarding' Event at Chester Cathedral, Wednesday 27th February 2019
A reminder that all parents, guardians and friends of Shrewsbury School are warmly invited to join the Chapel Choir in the beautiful medieval setting of Chester Cathedral for an uplifting Service of Choral Evensong on Wednesday 27th February. The service begins at 5:30pm and will be followed by a reception of drinks and canapés (6:30 – 8:00pm), hosted by the Headmaster and senior staff.
We are extending this invitation to members of the public and Cheshire community, who are welcome to join us and discover more about boarding and Shrewsbury School life. If you know of anyone to whom this will be of interest, please invite them along.
Shrewsbury School Gala Concert in the Cadogan Hall, London SW1, Sunday 10th March at 6.00pm
Shrewsbury School’s Symphony and Wind Orchestras are looking forward to performing once again in the splendid setting of the Cadogan Hall, alongside musicians from the Old Salopian community and other invited guests. This will be one of John Moore's final concerts as Director of Music at Shrewsbury School before he retires in July 2019, and it promises to be a wonderful occasion - so we very much hope that as many parents and friends will be able to come and join us. Tickets for the concert can be purchased via the Cadogan Hall website https://cadoganhall.com/whats-on/shrewsbury-school-2019/ or from their Box Office (tel. 020 7730 4500). They're on sale now (£15, or £5 for under-18s).
We also warmly welcome all members of the audience to join us in the Foyer of the Cadogan Hall at 4.30pm for a Pre-Concert Reception with light refreshments. Please reserve your place in advance by contacting Kate Evason, Marketing Manager - email firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone 01743 280521.
A Supporters’ Coach will travel to London from Shrewsbury on Sunday 10th March, leaving at 10.00am from Kingsland Hall and returning after the concert. Seats on the coach are £10 each and need to be reserved in advance by emailing Kate Evason (contact details above).
