CCF Cadets gain experience at military range competition

Over the last weekend some of our intrepid CCF shooters took part in the Brigade SAAM (Skill at Arms Meeting.)

This annual rifle shooting competition pits us against other Combined Cadet Forces and although we did not expect to win, the main aim in going was to give our cadets the experience of shooting on a military range in a competition format. Richard W (I, V) was our top shot, coming third overall, and other performances ranged from excellent to quite a few ‘wipe outs’ (ie no shots on target!)

Importantly, the cadets gained lots of experience and really enjoyed the day. We are grateful to Mr P Maybury and Mr J Ballard to taking them. Next year we expect to do better still!
