The CCF ran an Escape and Evasion exercise over the last weekend which involved some of our keenest cadets from RM, Rifles and RAF Sections.

This challenging exercise is always much enjoyed by our cadets. The Long Mynd and surrounding countryside was basking in some amazing weather which also meant a clear and moonlit night – making it more difficult for the escapees to avoid capture by our roaming ‘enemy’ groups.

Having successfully avoided capture by using their skills of stealth and night navigation the group then spend a night sleeping on the floor of a village hall.

After a morning cup of tea and a flapjack to provide energy the final challenge was a mountain bike ride across the lovely Shropshire landscape to breakfast in a café.

Many thanks to Mr Kaye of Shrewsbury Mountain Bike club for helping out and the other CCF staff that made the event a success.
