Shrewsbury
Sgt Frank is recipient of Pooley Sword of Honour 2025

We are delighted to announce the Pooley Sword of Honour winner is Sgt Frank J (O, UVI) of Shrewsbury CCF RAF Section.
The Pooley Sword is presented annually on Speech Day to the top CCF NCO in the year as voted by staff and cadets. That person should represent all the best qualities of NCOs in example setting, leadership, personal standards, enthusiasm and integrity.
The decision was based on the opinion of the CCF officers but also included a student vote taken from any cadet with a rank of LCpl and above.
Last year the sword was awarded to Flt Sgt Toby M (OS) so the RAF section have produced two award winners
Frank is a very worthy recipient and he will also receive a miniature sword which he can keep for life.
The Pooley Sword is the generous gift of the Pooley family who as Pooley Sword Ltd are cutlers to the King.
The actual sword can be viewed on display in the CCF offices.
