A Shrewsbury School pupil completed the Three Peaks Challenge for charity and became the first Youth Ambassador for an animal charity.

On Friday evening, Walt S-E (R, III) was presented with the International Aid for the Protection and Welfare of Animals (IAPWA) Youth Ambassador Award after raising more than £1,700 for the charity by completing the Three Peaks Challenge in difficult weather conditions.

Ben Fusi, Partnerships Director at IAPWA, praised Walt’s efforts and described the achievement as a remarkable contribution to the charity. Walt is the first young person to receive this award since the launch of the Youth Ambassador programme.

Mrs Pritchard, Head of Charities and Volunteering, and Jane Trowbridge, High Sheriff of Shropshire, were present at the event and commended Walt’s commitment, noting his proactive approach and what a great role model he is for others.
