On Saturday ten Shrewsbury crews travelled to Dorney Lake to take on Eton, Westminster and Radley in a fixture.

The racing and strong opposition provided the crews with ideal preparation on the two-thousand-meter course that will be hosting the National Schools Regatta in two weeks’ time.

There was a mix of results across the squads. The trip proved hugely valuable for all but particularly in terms of race experience for the junior crews. It was encouraging to note the progress made between the first and second runs.

The event played host to the second running of the W.E.K Anderson Bowl match versus Eton. Eton retained the trophy with an aggregate win in the events where the school boated like crews.
