Moser’s Bring 'Ballet Shoes' to Life in a Celebration of Sisterhood

This term Moser's put on the play Ballet Shoes, which is an adaptation of the children's novel by Noel Streatfield.

It follows the story of three girls, discovered by a palaeontologist when they were babies and raised by his great niece, as they grow up as sisters. They learn important lessons of selflessness, humility, bravery, acceptance, and compassion, accompanied by strong feminist messages. Having taken in lodgers to pay the bills of the palaeontologist's ageing house in his absence, a sweet, uplifting makeshift family is formed!

It's been so much fun this term to see girls of all ages and acting experience levels take part and work hard to produce this play. There have been many jokes, accidents, laughs, and improvisations along the way! The last Moser's house play we did was when I was in third form, which was Peter Pan. It was my first foray into the world of theatre, and I have loved engaging with every type of production possible ever since; as I watched the other girls from backstage on Saturday evening, I was so happy and proud of them. It has been so special to recreate the serious fun again!

Letti H (LVI, M)
Housemistress of the Grove, Mrs Lauren Temple added: "It particularly impressive to see brilliant leading performances from three Moserites in their first year at Shrewsbury - Eva H, Eva F and Tamika C, who gave fantastic portrayals of the three Fossil sisters."
