Saracens put Martyrs to the sword

Fielding a side brimming with youth and talent, Shrewsbury Saracens comfortably saw off the challenge from St Edward’s Martyrs in the first round of the Cricketer Cup on Sunday 12th June. Batting first, the Saracens amassed an impressive score of 367 for 6, thanks to a superb century by Jamie Crawley, backed up by team skipper Henry Lewis, Morgan Bevans, Ben Williams, Charlie Home and George Hargrave. In reply St Edwards’ Martyrs were dismissed for 153, with most of the damage done by the Saracens spin attack of Arthur Garrett, Charlie Home, and the Blofield brothers, Alex and Henry.  Next up is a home tie against Harrow Wanderers at Shrewsbury on Sunday 26th June. All support welcome.
