Shrewsbury
A Joyful night of Old Salopian musical cabaret

One of the highlights of the Salopian Club calendar- the Open Mic Night at The Pheasantry on the King’s Road in London took place during half term
The historic venue which played host to Eric Clapton, Queen Lou Reed and Thin Lizzy in the 1970s was taken over by some of the most exceptional Old Salopian musical talent for a night of top entertainment and sheer joy.
The event is more of a cabaret planned and presented by the lively double act of Jessie Inglis-Jones and Dom Sullivan who compered the evening with great panache as well as performing themselves.

It is anchored by the wildly talented house band made up of Joe Dodd and Dalton Foster, both professional musicians and the one and only John Moore, Shrewsbury School Director of Music
The performers put on a concert of covers of some of the most popular songs of the past 50 years which makes the event accessible and enjoyable for all ages. It always finishes with an enthusiastic singalong to Robbie Williams ‘Angels’.
Singers include ‘The Count of Monte Cristo’ actress Kate Woodman, Phoebe Morris who sings with the award winning acapella group ‘The Northen Lights’, Hugh McKinnon and Alex Bowman.

We will definitely be rebooking for next year and are always on the lookout for new performers.
