As we mark World Mental Health Day on 10th October, it’s a powerful moment to reflect on how we support the emotional wellbeing of our pupils at Shrewsbury.

In a world that often feels fast-paced and demanding, we believe wellbeing is not just important—it’s essential.

Our pastoral care is enriched by the Teen Tips Wellbeing Hub, a dynamic online platform offering pupils and parents access to expert advice, practical tools and engaging activities. Whether it’s managing anxiety, building self-esteem, navigating friendships, or simply finding calm in a busy day, the Hub provides a wealth of resources tailored to the challenges young people face.

Pupils can explore guided meditations, restorative yoga, breathing exercises and short stress-relief sessions. They’ll also find support for building emotional resilience, understanding healthy relationships, and practising self-love and acceptance.

For parents, the Hub offers insightful guides on nurturing friendships, setting boundaries, supporting children through conflict, and protecting mental health in the digital age. There’s even a CPD course for staff, reinforcing our whole-school commitment to wellbeing.

We encourage all families to make use of this invaluable resource. It’s a space for reflection, growth and connection—designed to help young people thrive both in and beyond the classroom.

Let’s use this World Mental Health Day to remind our pupils that their wellbeing matters, and that they are surrounded by a community that cares.
