We are delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Ed Trelinski as Senior Deputy Head of Shrewsbury School from September 2026.

Confirming the appointment Headmaster Leo Winkley said: “Ed has a deep understanding of whole person education and a strong affinity for the boarding ethos and community values of Shrewsbury School.”

Ed is currently in his sixth year as Second Master at Reading Blue Coat School.  Before that, he was a boarding Housemaster at Rugby School where he also taught Politics, History and EPQ and coached cricket, hockey and rugby.

Ed was a boarding pupil at Oundle School.  He then went on to study at the School of Slavonic and East European Studies at the University of London and then received an MA from the Graduate School of Political Management at The George Washington University.

Ed is married to Sarah, who currently works in independent senior school admissions, and they have three young children.  As a former keen sportsman, Ed enjoys watching live sport, fell walking in the Lake District, travelling and reading widely.

On his appointment, Ed commented: “My family and I are absolutely thrilled to be joining Shrewsbury School and to be at the heart of a full boarding community once again.

"To join such an exceptional school, full of warmth and care, and so committed to its partnerships with the wider community, is a great honour and promises to be "serious fun."
