Henley Celebration

There was much to celebrate at Henley Royal Regatta. After a gap of 3 years, the traditional Shrewsbury reception and lunch on the first day of the Regatta returned to the grounds of Henley Cricket Club, attended by approximately 180 parents, Old Salopians and friends of Shrewsbury School. After a welcome from the Headmaster, there was a presentation of an oar to Steve Fox (Staff 1994-2022) to mark his retirement and outstanding service to School rowing. Although there was disappointment when the girls’ quad was eliminated, there was jubilation when the boys’ 1^st VIII reached the quarter finals of the Princess Elizabeth Cup with a thrilling victory over Westminster in a dramatic finish.
