Netball at Shrewsbury improves year on year, and we are now performing consistently well against strong schools.  

Across both our senior and junior divisions, all 8 teams have showcased exceptional talent and sportsmanship during both training sessions and competitive fixtures. With a total of over 96 matches played, our girls have shown extraordinary progress and achieved remarkable success. 

1st VII: The 1st VII commenced their season triumphantly with a 29-21 victory against Hereford Cathedral, concluding with a comfortable win over Edgbaston High School. Throughout the season, the team experienced a mix of results, all closely contested, showcasing their ongoing improvement week by week. Demonstrating exceptional determination, skill and teamwork, the girls exhibited great sportsmanship both in training and during fixtures. Captain Rose F (G, UVI) set a sterling example for the team and the school, with outstanding performances from players such as Amelia G (EDH, UVI) and Eloise J (MSH, UVI). 

2nd VII: Our 2nd VII team has showcased unwavering dedication in every match and training session, eagerly embracing new concepts and evolving with growing confidence as these principles translated into successful strategies on the court. Despite their small squad size, they have made admirable progress, with several players transitioning to the first team. Notable highlights include triumphant victories against Wrekin College, The King’s School in Chester, and Denstone. This team demonstrates remarkable cohesion, working tirelessly to support one another on the court, embodying resilience and determination in every game. 

3rd VII: The 3rd VII enjoyed a highly successful season, securing 7 wins, 1 draw, and 3 losses, including commendable victories against Denstone, Solihull, and Haberdasher Adams' Grammar. With an impressive +86 goal difference, the team showcased exceptional development in their netball skills while embodying the values of commitment, teamwork, and professionalism. They have been exemplary role models for Shrewsbury School Sport, fostering a superb team spirit and atmosphere under the guidance of Mr. Muston and the coaching staff. 

U15A: The U15A squad had an outstanding season, beginning with a victory in the U16 County tournament and culminating in comprehensive wins against RGS Worcester and Wrekin College. Their hard work and talent were evident as they consistently performed well, with only one narrow loss to Solihull School. With a remarkable +323 goal difference, their recent win against Repton showcased their ability to compete at the highest level. Notable performances came from Daisy P (M, IV), Willa B (MSH, IV) and Chiara C (MSH, IV), highlighting their individual athleticism and talent. 

U15B: The U15B’s have enjoyed a successful Netball season, triumphing in the majority of their matches and growing in unity and confidence as a cohesive team. Despite facing challenges throughout the season, they consistently rallied together, showcasing their prowess and teamwork with remarkable success. Their performance has been marked by exceptional skill, but more importantly, they've exemplified outstanding sportsmanship and camaraderie. Witnessing their support for one another and their infectious enthusiasm for the sport has been truly rewarding. A special acknowledgment is due to Addilyn L (MSH, IV), who has shown remarkable improvement throughout the term, not only mastering the game for the first time but also embracing various court positions with gusto.  

U14A: Our U14A team, a talented group of athletes, enjoyed tremendous success this season, boasting a +145 goal difference with 10 wins and 4 losses. Their versatility and skill were evident as they seamlessly transitioned between positions on the court, enhancing their game understanding and flexibility. Focused and assertive, they demonstrated exceptional skill and determination, particularly in executing front hold strategies during competitive matches. Witnessing their significant progress throughout the season has been truly gratifying, and the girls should take immense pride in their achievements. 

U14B: Finishing with a +80 goal difference, our U14B team demonstrated cooperation, adaptability, and unwavering support for teammates throughout the season. With 9 wins and one draw out of 13 matches, their dedication to training translated into impressive performances and results. Motivated, hardworking, and passionate about netball, these girls exemplify the joy of the sport.
