Isaac signs first professional contract with Shrewsbury Town Football Club

Shrewsbury is immensely proud of pupil Isaac (Rt, UVI) who has signed his first professional contract with Shrewsbury Town Football Club (STFC).
Isaac’s incredible talent and dedication to football has led him to a three-year deal at the Croud Meadow and he will wear the number 38 shirt for the 2025/26 campaign.
The new deal marks the latest milestone in a journey that began when Isaac joined the club’s pre-academy aged just five. He then entered the academy aged seven before progressing through the ranks and making his first team debut last season.
Isaac kicked off his new contract at the Vertu Trophy against Chelsea U21s and was then rewarded with his full league debut on 30 August against Accrington Stanley.
Isaac E (Rt, UVI), said:
“I am absolutely thrilled to sign my first professional contract with Shrewsbury Town. Having been at the Club since the age of five and having progressed all the way through the ranks, it is a brilliant feeling to have signed for a further three years.
“Training with the Academy alongside being at Shrewsbury School has been pivotal to my development. The fantastic coaching, advice and support from the whole team of sports coaches at Shrewsbury School alongside top quality facilities has been a key part in my development so far.
“The competitive games programme, Hudl league fixtures and participation in the ISFA National squad have provided fantastic opportunities to test myself and develop. With my talented teammates, I have been fortunate to share some amazing experiences both in football and cricket including winning the ESFA National Football title, ISFA Sixes and The Cricket Paper’s U17 National Cup as well as reaching the final last year of the ISFA Boodles Cup.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those that have played a part in my journey so far, but a particular thank you must go to Director of Football, Steve Wilderspin, Will Hughes and Iain Sankey for their belief in me and continuing to push me to be the best I can be.”
Director of Football at Shrewsbury School, Steve Wilderspin, said:
"As a school, we are extremely proud of Isaac’s remarkable achievement in signing a professional football contract and the impressive progress he has made in his development as a player. His unwavering drive and focus have always set him apart, and it’s a true reflection of these qualities that he now finds himself playing in professional football.
"With only around 4% of academy players making it to elite-level football, Isaac’s accomplishment at just 17 years old is nothing short of outstanding. That said, he understands that this is only the beginning, and the real work lies ahead as he embarks on the next chapter of his journey.
“I had the privilege of watching him make his first league start on Saturday against Accrington Stanley, and we all hope it’s the first of many appearances in a Shrewsbury Town shirt."
Shrewsbury Town Football Club said:
“We like to congratulate Isaac on signing his first professional contract. He has been with the football club since the age of five, and it is always nice when you get a Shrewsbury-born player- and fan-in and around the first team.
"Isaac has been on our development pathway and has made a big impression after breaking into the senior squad last season. And he carried that into pre-season, going on to get his first goal for the club in our friendly at Leamington.”
