Shrewsbury School is celebrating a series of excellent achievements by its girls’ cricketers, who have secured success on the national and international stage.

This weekend, Cerys T (V, QEH) will captain her club, Berkswell U15 Girls, in the U15 Club T20 National Final at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground, where they face Tunbridge Wells CC U15 Girls.

Meanwhile, Aamna K (LVI, M) is set to feature in the ECB Girls’ U18 County T20 Cup Final, representing Warwickshire U18 Girls against Leicestershire U18 Girls at Neston CC.

Their success follows an action-packed summer that saw Millie P (MSH, LVI) and Aamna K (LVI, M), alongside Old Salopians Esther Hurford (2023) and Harriet Shuker (2021), play in the Vitality Blast Women’s League 3 National Final for Shropshire Women against Oxfordshire Women.

Adding to this list of triumphs, Daisy P (LVI, M) made her debut for Jersey Women, playing in the T20i Tri-Series against the Isle of Man and Brazil.

Lara Jones, Head of Girls’ Cricket at Shrewsbury School, said:

“It has been an promising summer for our girls’ cricket programme. To see Salopians performing with such skill and leadership on the national and international stage is truly inspiring. Whether captaining at Lord’s, competing in county finals, or representing their country, our players are showing the strength of girls’ cricket at Shrewsbury and beyond. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and excited for what the future holds.”

These successes highlight the growing strength and depth of girls’ cricket at Shrewsbury, where players are nurtured through a thriving programme that combines elite-level coaching with the School’s ethos of Serious Fun and whole-person development.
