Shrewsbury’s Tennis Tour to La Manga

The Shrewsbury School Tennis Tour to La Manga, held from 21st to 25th March, offered an inspiring blend of high‑quality training, new sporting experiences, and memorable moments both on and off the court.
The 20 students made the most of the world‑class facilities, which saw the students training and competing for around four to five hours each day. The sessions were fast‑paced and purposeful, giving the group the chance to sharpen their technique, build confidence in match situations, and enjoy the challenge of playing in a professional environment.
Alongside their tennis programme, the group also had the opportunity to try Padel, a sport that has rapidly grown in popularity across Europe. On the final evening, the students were lucky enough to step out onto the exhibition court for a match under the lights, creating one of the standout moments of the tour.
The atmosphere, the setting, and the quality of play combined to make it a memorable experience that captured the excitement of training abroad. It was a fantastic start to the holidays and was also excellent preparation for the season ahead. Special mentions should go Thie Supsakorn and Freya Collinge who were named as players of the tour.
