Will receives top essay prize from Westminster Group

A Sixth Former has been awarded the top prize from the Westminster Strategic Studies Group for his work on an essay.

Will H (Ch, LVI) received the Oliver Mitchell Memorial Essay Prize for his essay on the UK Yemen Policy.

The contest is aimed to encourage students from secondary schools across the UK to consider careers in international affairs and requires each entrant to submit an essay of 1,500 words on a currently foreign policy issue.

Will’s essay earned him one of the top three prizes, which meant he was invited to the House of Commons for a dinner and a prizegiving ceremony, as well as a paid two-week internship in foreign affairs in London.
