On Monday evening the MFL department gathered with former and current colleagues to officially open the Peach Room in memory of the late Huw Peach who sadly passed away a few years ago.

The evening was very well attended and it was lovely to see so many past and present MFL teachers come together to support Sophie Peach in renaming our language lab the Peach Room. Mr Morris gave a lovely tribute to Huw and even managed to dig out his former German report from Mr Peach. The evening concluded with Sophie cutting a ribbon to officially open the room.

A special thank you to Miss Pedraza-Nijjar who has been instrumental in making the room such a nice space for students to use as part of their language learning.

The Peach Room will continue to serve as a multimedia language learning lab, providing a space for students to practice listening and speaking skills. This room was always used by Huw whilst teaching at Shrewsbury and is therefore a lovely way to commemorate the passion and enthusiasm he demonstrated as a languages teacher for so many years.

Mr Richard Yardley, Head of German
