Talented musicians triumph at Alderley Edge Music Festival

A number of our incredibly talented musicians participated in the Alderley Edge Music Festival last week.
With performances that dazzled both judges and audiences alike, we didn’t just participate - we took the festival by storm!
All of the participants were placed in the top 3 in their respective classes, testament to their excellent preparation and impressive performances.
Results:
String Recital Open Class:
First - Lydia C (QEH, IV) (violin)
Joint Second - Peer I (O, LVI) & Don W (Rt, IV) (both cello)
Alderley Young Singer of the Year 2025:
Third - Frances C (QEH, IV)
Woodwind Recital Open Class:
First - Hazel C (MSH, IV) (clarinet)
Second - Bob L (S, LVI) (bassoon)
Piano Recital Open Class:
First - Kai Y (I, LVI)
Second - Chit S (R, IV)
The winners for each class were also invited to the Festival Finale on Saturday night where they performed exceptionally and gained some superb feedback. With the highest mark in the entire festival, Lydia was also awarded the Young Musician Cup, an outstanding achievement at such a young age.
Thanks should also go to Mr Potts, who not only drove to Alderley Edge three times last week but also supported the musicians as the accompanist.
Well done to all performers, and congratulations to the prize winners.
