Shrewsbury crews impress at Junior Inter-Regional Regatta

On Saturday four Shrewsbury crews represented the West Midlands at the Junior Inter-Regional Regatta at the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham.
The event saw crews from thirteen regions making up Great Britain taking part. All of the crews had qualified by winning their events at the West Midlands Championships held in early March.
The event format saw crews racing in a one-thousand-meter time trial followed by a one-thousand-five-hundred-meter final.
The J16 Boys and Girls Eights and the J15 Boys Coxed Four all placed in the top six of their time trials to earn a place in the A final. In closely contested finals all three crews placed a creditable fourth narrowly missing out on the medals.
The J16 Boys four placed twelfth in their time trial a result which they maintained by winning the C final.
It was a strong showing from all the boats and they can take confidence from their results going into racing next weekend at Shrewsbury Regatta and Nottingham City Regatta.
