Rowing

On Saturday, seven J15 and J16 crews travelled to Salford Quays to compete in the Agecroft Head at Manchester Docks.

Conditions were ideal for racing—a cool, sunny afternoon that showcased the best of autumn rowing.

For the J15s, this marked their first external race, and they acquitted themselves admirably both on and off the water. Their performances in the octuples were particularly encouraging, with promising times recorded relative to other boat classes. The J16 girls raced in three quads and delivered pleasing results, showing good cohesion and competitive spirit. The J16 boys, racing in an eight and missing several crew members due to senior trials, produced a strong row to finish sixth overall and second in their category.

It was a fantastic day of racing and a fitting way to round off the first half of term.

Mr Athol Hundermark, Head of Rowing
