Shrewsbury Crews Impress at Runcorn Autumn Head

This past weekend saw our J16 and Senior Squads take to the water at Runcorn Autumn Head.

RSSBC was able to put out some impressive results, racing from Hatton’s Hey Wood to Sutton Causeway – a twisting course of 3650m.

A total of 39 crews were entered, racing across the morning and afternoon divisions. The J16 Girls and Senior Boys started the day with a strong set of results. Max E (SH – UIV) backed up his impressive results so far this season with another storming victory in the J18 1x Band 1, with a strong row from Robbie L (S – UIV) coming in 3^rd place. Impressive wins were also recorded in the J16 1x Band 1 by Matthias H (SH – LIV) and the WJ16 4x+. A summary of the morning’s wins are below:

These wins were followed in the afternoon with more victories coming from the Senior Girls and J16 Boys. Katie W (Q – LIV) had strong performance in the WJ17 1x Band 1, taking victory, alongside Ella O (G – UIV) in the WJ18 1x Band 1. The J16 boys raced down in fine form, winning the J16 4x+. It was excellent to see so many crews entered and perform so well at an event to test the progress in the first part of the term. The J16s have started their season well, with silverware on both the boys and girls fronts. We’re looking forward to carrying this momentum forward as we look ahead to the next head’s races.
