U15 Boys' team crowned T20 County Cricket Champions

The U15 boys were crowned T20 County Champions last week after a 28-run victory over Ellesmere College on Senior. 

Batting first, the Salopians were wobbling at 51-3 after 9 overs on an excellent wicket and lightning-fast outfield. Arjan B (SH, IV), who had shone during the ongoing Bunbury trial process, then joined forces with Hugo O (Rt, IV), with the pair sharing an explosive unbeaten partnership of 141 in just 66 balls.  

Arjan hit 5 fours and 4 sixes in his 80 from 51 balls, while Hugo smashed 51 from just 29 balls, with 4 fours and 3 maximums. 

Despite a stunning undefeated 96 from Ellesmere opener Dyson, Shrewsbury emerged victorious after economical spells from Bryan M (Ch, III) (2-16) and Arjan (4-0-24-0) put the brakes on the Ellesmere chase. Denstone await in the next round, where victory would clinch qualification for the showpiece Midlands Finals Day.
