Bob earns place in City of Birmingham Symphony Youth Orchestra

We are delighted to share the exciting news that Bob L (S, LVI) has successfully auditioned for and been offered a place in the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO) Youth Orchestra for the upcoming year.
Bob performed a selection of orchestral excerpts and solo repertoire before a distinguished panel of CBSO bassoonists, Nikolaj Henriques, Tony Liu and Margaret Cookhorn, who praised his preparation, musicality and spirited performance, noting that he delivered a strong and commendable audition.
Bob’s first performance with the orchestra will take place in early November at Warwick Arts Centre, where the programme will include Shostakovich’s Festive Overture and Symphony No. 7, Leningrad, under the baton of conductor Joshua Weilerstein.
This outstanding achievement is a testament to Bob’s dedication, perseverance, and passion for music. We congratulate him and look forward to supporting him further next year.
