The summer term has been fantastic for the tennis season, with excellent weather encouraging many pupils to take to the courts, from recreational players to those competing regularly for the school.

Despite being a relatively short term, our teams have achieved remarkable success. The boys' 1st team and U15A team both secured victories against Malvern College, KES Birmingham, and Wrekin College. Similarly, the girls' 1st team triumphed over Malvern College, Moreton, and Wrekin College. It was wonderful to see many junior girls competing for the first time, with the U15A, B, and C teams regularly representing the school.

In their final term, the Upper Sixth students have shown strong leadership. Special recognition goes to Olivia K (M), the girls' captain, and Felix F (I) and Rory G (Ch), the boys' captains, as well as Sophia C (MSH) for her exceptional contributions. These leaders have been outstanding mentors to younger students throughout their time at Shrewsbury. Notable performances throughout the term have come from Nick W (O, LVI), Yee Lok M (S, LVI), Willa B (MSH, V) and Sienna E (G, IV), who have consistently led the boys' and girls' 1st teams to success.

After half-term, we have focused on mixed doubles fixtures, with the seniors achieving a comprehensive victory over Malvern College. We look forward to our final regular season match against Bromsgrove on Saturday, followed by a match against the Old Salopians on Sunday, 22nd June. Overall, it has been a great tennis season with a young squad that has matured successfully over the year. The dedication and hard work of all players and leaders have been truly commendable.
