Josh Selected for Glamorgan County Cricket Academy

Josh H (LVI, SH) has become the eighth Salopian in the last four years to gain selection for a men's First Class County Academy.
He was named last week as one of ten players in the 2025/26 intake for Glamorgan CCC.
Shrewsbury's links with Glamorgan are long-standing, and for the past decade the Welsh side have run a Satellite Academy based at the school throughout the winter. This is led by our Cricket Professional (and former Glamorgan player) Adam Shantry, supported by fellow Shrewsbury coach Tyler Ibbotson.
Members of Glamorgan's professional coaching staff also attend these sessions over the course of the programme and have included former England batting coach Matt Maynard, ex-England seamer Steve Watkin, and Head of Talent Development Richard Almond.
Josh, a stylish top-order batsman, has attended these winter sessions for several years, as well as having additional one-to-one coaching at Shrewsbury, and he has now progressed through the ranks to become one of the top young talents in Wales.
His scintillating form in the 2025 season included a stunning 86 against Surrey U16s and has earned him promotion to the full Academy.
He will now divide his winter practice commitments between Shrewsbury and Cardiff and will be eagerly awaiting a busy summer of cricket both in Shrewsbury and further afield.
