A Sixth Form pupil has been offered a place on a highly competitive university scholars’ programme, securing one of just five spots globally.

Max W (SH, UVI) has won a place on the prestigious Cambridge Future Scholar Programme. Specifically, he has been offered a position on Dr Nicholas Anderson’s Refounding Modernity: The Political Philosophy of J.J. Rousseau and Immanuel Kant research course.

In the 2024 rounds, the acceptance rate averaged around 17% across the programme. Despite the influx of strong applicants worldwide, the CCIR Admissions Team and professors admitted only 5 students globally for each professor’s research course.

Max was also awarded a scholarship, which is only awarded to student researchers that exhibit great passion and academic interest in their application.

Very well done to Max, who plans on reading Philosophy at University College London.
