On Saturday, the Senior and J16A Shrewsbury crews hit the water for their final race preparations ahead of National Schools' Regatta (NSR) 2025.

The much-anticipated Nottingham City Regatta drew in clubs and schools alike, offering a crucial opportunity for side-by-side racing over 2000m from stake boats.

The Boys' 1st Eight battled fiercely to secure third place in their final, after an intense and closely contested race. Meanwhile, the Boys' 1st Four demonstrated remarkable resilience in tough conditions, also finishing in third. The Girls' 1st Quad and Four delivered impressive performances, each claiming second place against formidable competition.

The J16 Boys' and Girls' Eights embraced the challenge of racing in senior events, gaining invaluable experience. Both crews put in commendable efforts, finishing with a strong second and third place, respectively.

Racing on the NSR course provided essential practice in high-pressure competition, offering valuable insights ahead of the main event. With two crucial weeks of preparation remaining, the crews are set for a busy but productive training period before returning to Nottingham for their ultimate test.
