The Scottish Islands Peaks Race 2026
Last weekend, Ten L6 pupils had the unique opportunity to take part in one of the world's most famous endurance events, the Scottish Islands Peaks Race.
This once-in-a-lifetime three day experience included running miles over the peaks of remote Scottish islands and sailing our way in between!
Whilst the rocky seas did sometimes get the better of us, we nonetheless all dug deep to complete runs with rucksacks of 19 miles and 3,000ft, gaining our first real experience of Type 2 fun.
The slight delirium and rewarding sense of fulfilment we all felt at the end of our running legs made every step of our training worthwhile and will stay with us forever.
Other highlights of our trip included feisty games of cards, freezing swims in the sea and taking our trainers off after the runs!
This is by far one of the best opportunities this school offers, as it has not only shown us what we are capable of but it has also provided us all with memories and experiences that we will last a lifetime.
We thank Mr Griffiths for making it all possible and Alasdair Darroch (OS) for skippering his boat, Indigo again.
